In 2022 we were excited to develop the wayfinding system for Gateway Sydney – one of Sydney’s most central and lively dining attractions, situated on the doorstep of the picturesque harbour.
Located in the heart of Sydney’s iconic Circular Quay, Gateway Sydney is an A-grade dining precinct with over 29 restaurants, cafes, bars and a food court, operating 7 days a week.
We explored designs that were lightweight and contemporary, marrying with the branding of the precinct and creating a sense of distinction and openness, within a bustling environment.
Our design looked to enhance the visibility of arrival points using large scale messaging, whilst upgrading the internal design language to complement the brand and respond to the premium nature of the site.
The wayfinding concept applied the existing brand and typography, and adopted a palette that was sympathetic to, but stood out from the architecture.
The form incorporated circular shapes and a light, open framework, to ensure maximised visibility within the space and a connection to the brand language.
